Both events took place in hybrid format and were hosted at the Law Faculty of the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven. The events were entirely sponsored by the University of California Los Angeles – Emmet Institute on Climate Change and the Environment, and the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven.
The Conference provided an opportunity for Project Team and Advisory Committee members, as well as external experts inter alia from the European Commission, the European Court of Human Rights and Non-Governmental Organizations, and UNIDROIT to present their research in the field. Topics discussed were organised around three themes: ‘Climate Action and Climate Liabilities’, ‘Enforcement of Climate Related Issues’ and ‘Reshaping Contracts for Climate Justice’. The Agenda of the Conference is available here.
The Conference was followed by the Project Team meeting on 7 July, which led to a significant advancement in the elaboration of the ‘Principles on Climate Justice’.
Further information about the project is available here.
