Prof Dr Susanne Gössl and Dr Ilaria Pretelli presented the current draft, which provides amendments to the European Commission's Proposal for a Council Regulation on jurisdiction, applicable law, recognition of decisions and acceptance of authentic instruments in matters of parenthood and on the creation of a European Certificate of Parenthood.
Members of the Advisory Committee and Observers provided their feedback on some of the proposed provisions. Emphasis was put on the importance of harmonising legal approaches across jurisdictions to safeguard children's rights.
