André Janssen is a professor for European Private Law at Radboud University Nijmegen, The Netherlands. He was a visiting scholar/professor at Bocconi University Milan, the Catholic University Lyon, the Chinese University for Political Science and Law Beijing, City University Hong Kong, East China University of Political Science and Law Shanghai, Leuven University, Oxford University, Turin University, and Verona University. Janssen also was the holder of the Francqui-chair, funded by the Francqui-foundation in Belgium until last year.
He has actively participated in more than 150 international conferences on five continents, has been a member of several national and international research networks and published more than 160 books, articles and other contributions especially in the field of European Private Law, Commercial Law, Comparative Law and Digital Law (including Artificial Intelligence and Law). Janssen’s latest book ‘The Future of European Private Law’ was recently published (edited together with Matthias Lehmann and Reiner Schulze). He is the co-chief-editor of the European Review of Private Law (ERPL) and a member of the editorial board of the International Arbitration Law Review (IALR) and the Opinio Juris in Comparatione.
