Georges Cavalier is Associate Professor of Law at the University of Lyon (France), Director of the Tax LLM, and of the Master’s degree in Financial and Tax Engineering delocalized in Abidjan (Ivory Coast). Cavalier holds two PhDs in Law (including one delivered by the University Radboud of Nijmegen, The Netherlands) together with an LLM from Georgetown University Law Center (Washington DC).
He is the author of several articles and books in French, English, Italian and Chinese. Over the years, Cavalier was (i) a member of the drafting team of the Doing Business reports; (ii) co-editor of the book From Information Systems to Blockchain (Larcier Bruylant 2021, 491 pp); and (iii) a reporter in various scientific organisations (including the European Association of Tax Law Professors (EATLP), the International Fiscal Association (IFA), the IACL).
Cavalier is a member of the Editorial Board of the European and International Tax Journal, the International Review for Financial Services, the European Journal of Privacy Law & Technologies, and French correspondent to the Rivista di diritto tributario internazionale.
Cavalier has taught Comparative Company Law, together with European Law, EU Competition Law and EU e-commerce. He has been Visiting Professor at various European and foreign universities including the University of Essex and the University of Surrey.
