Elisabeth Lovrek

Elisabeth Lovrek studied law at the University of Vienna. In 1987, she became a judge at the District Court of Vienna's Innere Stadt district. This was followed by positions at the Regional Court and the Higher Regional Court of Vienna. On January 1, 2003, she was appointed judge of the Austrian Supreme Court, of which she was president from 2018 until the end of 2023. Since March 1, 2024, she is a professor of civil procedure law and insolvency law at the University of Graz. Additionally, she became chair of the University Council of the University of Vienna in 2023.
