Svitlana Mazepa is an Associate Professor of the Department of Criminal Law and Procedure, former Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Law of the West Ukrainian National University and international Guest Researcher at Osnabrück University. She is a Volkswagen scholarship winner for the ‘On propaganda and misinformation as tools of the information war’ 2022/2023 research project). She was a Visiting Professor at Jagiellonian University in 2022. In addition, Mazepa is a former Senior Inspector of the National Central Bureau of Interpol in Ukraine; a member of the International Police Association; a speaker at the Hugh School of Judges; a trainer in anti-corruption courses for civil servants and the author of several articles, book chapters, as well as a participant in numerous international research projects and internships.

Svitlana Mazepa is the inaugural Chair of the ELI Ukrainian Hub; a member of the International Association of Police; an active participant at international conferences and projects and author of more than 60 articles. Her scientific interests include criminal law, international cooperation in criminal matters. She speaks Ukrainaian, Russian, English and is actively studying German and Polish.
